Christian Education Ministries

Teach Sunday School

Volunteers agree to teach specific classes for terms which generally coincide with the school year and summer months.  Materials provided do not require a teaching background, just a willingness to properly prepare for each class.

SCS Substitute

For those unable to commit to a whole term, there is the opportunity to volunteer to help during the absence of a regular teacher.  Age groups can be specified.

Teach VBS

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a program offered during the summer months, usually for a week.  It provides an additional opportunity for enriching our members grasp of their faith.  VBS in our congregation has been a program which involves all age groups.

Help at VBS

Putting on a successful VBS program requires much help.  From an evening meal to snacks and recreation time for the children, there are many functions to be accomplished.  If you are interested in working with our VBS program but are not interested in being a teacher, sign up here.

Mentor Confirmation Class

This entails assisting the pastor with the teaching of confirmation.  The utilization of lay adults in confirmation ministry is a powerful witness to young people who will be making their own commitments to their faith through service in the Church.

Teach Wednesday Night Adult Class

Additional Bible study opportunities are possible if adult lay leadership is available.  Primary responsibility is to motivate discussion.  Materials are available to help anyone interested in serving in this capacity.

Other Opportunities

Recognizing the many talents and skills held by our members, you may have certain areas of expertise that could enhance our learning ministry.  Opportunities include SCS Coordinator, VBS Coordinator, Children's Program Coordinator (for Wednesday evening programs), Advent and Lenten meditations booklet coordinators.
