Weekly News from CVLC

FARMING CHURCH - The Congregational Council invites every member, if you have not done so already, to please complete the Farming Church Online Readiness Inventory.  You should have received an email with this information, but you can also access the link on the Friends of Christus Victor Facebook page and on this website by clicking on the “Farming Church” tab to the left. The Online Readiness indicator link will remain active through  August 30, 2019. Thank you very much for taking a few minutes to complete this very important and useful step in growing our church!

ALL YOUTH AND PARENTS ARE INVITED - Youth/Parents and all other members of CVLC please join us for lunch this coming Sunday, August 18, after the 10:30 worship service.  Currently, the youth director position is vacant and we would like to take this opportunity to have a discussion about what direction you would like to see our youth group go in the future.  Please join us for this very important discussion!

OUR WELCA LADIES’ TEA  is scheduled for Saturday, August 24 at noon in the fellowship hall.  We invite you to bring a friend or family member (all ages are welcome!) and join us for this wonderful event.  We are excited about this year’s speaker, Rebecca Davis.  She is a Christian speaker and author of numerous books for children, teens and adults.  There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex.

“OCTOBERFEST” HYMN SING AND DINNER - Our next Hymn Sing and Dinner is Sunday, September 29 starting at 5:00pm!  This month, we are going to get a head start on celebrating Octoberfest with Martin Luther’s hymns along with your all time favorite requests.  We will have dinner together afterwards with bratwurst and other yummy Octoberfest favorites!  Come and join the fun and fellowship and invite others!

GIRL SCOUTS - There are currently openings in the Daisy (kindergarten and 1st grade) and Brownie (2nd and 3rd grade) troops that meet at CVLC.  If you are interested, please contact the church office.

DO YOU HAVE A STUDENT GOING OFF TO COLLEGE? If so, one great way to bless them is to provide their contact information to the local Lutheran Campus Ministry group at their school!  Lutheran Campus Ministry groups provide opportunities for hospitality, support, Christian community, worship, service, learning, meals, and fun!  For a young person entering - or returning to - a year of challenges in the academic environment, Lutheran Campus Ministry can be a true blessing and support system.  If you need contact information for a particular Lutheran Campus Ministry group, Pastor Fred would be happy to provide you information!
