Weekly News from CVLC
SERMON SEED FOR SUNDAY - Where to begin? We have three wonderful readings for the Third Sunday after Epiphany! Isaiah’s familiar words from the Christmas season replay the prophecies and promises of God in this Epiphany season where Christ – the Light of the world, shines in the darkness. In his letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul speaks of Christian unity by proclaiming the gospel in the context of the cross. In the Gospel, Matthew makes a connection with Isaiah’s words, then shares the calling of the first disciples as Jesus invites them - “Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.” Jesus, the Light of the World, fulfills the prophecies, coming to share the good news and enduring the cross, so that we, called and sent as disciples - might carry the gospel through the church into the world!

Anyone who does any serious thinking about the Christian faith will surely want to attend.
