ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A NEW WAY TO SERVE THE CHURCH?  If you’ve got a desire to be helpful to the congregation; if you’ve got an interest in seeing how the service becomes a live streamed event; if you would enjoy the feeling of contributing to the life of Christus Victor, then we have a place for you!  Please let us know if you have an interest or ability to be part of the team that makes sure the Sunday morning worship service reaches into the homes of all of our congregation.  We need a small team so that Tom and his family can be out of town occasionally and the worship service is still captured and sent to the congregation at home.  Ideally, 3 or 4 cheerful volunteers are needed to shadow Tom for a Sunday or two to learn how this all gets done, and occasionally take over as videographer and producer so that the congregation can continue to worship together, albeit from our homes.  Likewise, if you can Host a Zoom meeting (or are willing to learn how), it would be a good thing for Scott Johnson to have a few people he could call on when he can’t join us on Sunday mornings.

Please contact Mike Metzler, Tom Counts or Laura Sturgeon in the church office if you’ve got an interest in helping.  We’re particularly open to having some of our younger members volunteer for this – this would be a perfect way for youth to contribute to the congregation, and would probably look pretty good as an entry on your college resume, too!

THE REASSEMBLING TASK FORCE - a sub-group of this team met on Tuesday, August 25.  This will be followed by a meeting of the entire team on Tuesday, September 8.  The Task Force’s purpose is to carefully plan, schedule, and execute our procedure for reopening for live worship in the future.  Stay tuned for more updates!

THE REASSEMBLING TASK FORCE has been formed and has had their first meeting!  The Task Force’s purpose is to carefully plan, schedule, and execute our procedure for reopening for live worship in the future.  Stay tuned for more updates!

COLLEGE STUDENTS - The church would like to know if any of our members are attending college or technical school this year!  As your church family, we want to provide support throughout the school year and keep in touch!  Please let Laura know (if you haven’t already) where your student is attending.  If he or she is living on campus, please let us know the mailing and email address.

ADULT CHOIR has become virtual! Robert, Laura and the rest of the Adult Choir will be meeting via Zoom each Wednesday at 7:00pm for discussion/practice of upcoming anthems, and just to visit and get together on a regular basis.  Plans are to continue having a virtual anthem during Sunday worship as the schedule allows.  You do not have to leave the comfort of your own home in order to be in our virtual choir!  If you think you might be interested and want more details, email cvlcmusic@gmail.com, or just click this Zoom link at 7:00 on Wednesday evening:   https://bit.ly/cvlcchoir

PLEASE JOIN US EACH SUNDAY after our online worship service for our Worship Reflection Time immediately following the 10:30 online service.  At this time, we ask you to grab your coffee, relax, and join us as we think about and discuss our worship service that day.  We will gather “virtually” and discuss these questions:

1. What part of worship (liturgy, music/hymns/anthem, scripture , sermon) spoke loudest to you today?  Did you discern a theme?

2. What was the central message of the sermon?  We’re there surprises, new insights? Questions raised?

Please consider staying online after worship each week and joining us!

CVLC PRAYER LIST - We try to keep the prayer list updated and current each week. Please review the prayer list and contact the church office if you or your loved ones can be removed.  You can email Laura with any additions or deletions at cvlc@bellsouth.net Thank you!

PASTOR JANE'S EMAIL is now up and running!  Please feel free to contact her at jmitcham@bellsouth.net.

WHEN SCHEDULING MEETINGS, please be sure to notify the church office so that we can put it on the church calendar.  Thank you!
